1. Which Covid-19 tests do you offer? We offer the:
- Antibody Rapid Fingerstick Test - This Fingerstick test will show three (3) results:
- If you have the Antibodies (IgG antibody results show if you have had the Covid-19 virus in the past)
- If you currently test Positive for the virus (IgM antibody results show if you are Positive for the virus
- If you are Negative for the Antibodies (IgG antibody and Negative for the IgM Covid-19 virus)
- The Rapid test shows results in 15 minutes or less
- Nasal Swabbing Test - This test is given if you test Positive for the Covid-19 virus from taking the above Rapid Antibody Fingerstick Test and confirms that you currently have the COVID-19 virus.
- Blood draw from your arm - This test is to confirm your rapid antibody result from the above Rapid Antibody Fingerstick Test.
- Both the Nasal Swabbing Test and Blood Draw are sent to a CLIA approved lab the same day and typically take 3-5 days for the results, unless expedited processing is selected*.
2. What is an antibody?
- An antibody is what your immune system produces in order to fight off an infection.
3. Do I have to make an appointment with you to take any of the above test?
- Appointments are required for testing and we are available Sunday – Saturday by appointment. The test can be administered at your home, office, or other desired location around your schedule.
4. Does my insurance pay for the test?
- The Rapid Antibody Fingerstick Test is payable by cash, check, credit or debit card ONLY, whether you are insured or not. The Nasal Swab Test and Blood Drawing Test for antibodies may be covered by your insurance provider; call to confirm. However, if you are not insured, additional lab processing fees will be applicable for the Nasal Swab Test and/or the Blood Drawing Antibodies Test.
5. How long does the test take?
- All of the above tests takes approximately 15 minutes each. First, we fill out an Intake Form using information that you provide. Then your forehead temperature is taken.
- For the Rapid Antibody Fingerstick Test, your fingertip is wiped with alcohol before we stick it with a sterile lancet and squeeze a few drops of blood into a sterile plastic dropper. Lastly, the blood inside the dropper is squeezed into a test cassette. Once your test cassette is developed you will be notified of your results via call, text and/or email by end of day. In certain instances, if the schedule permits, your test cassette will be developed in front of you and your result will be given 10 to 15 minutes later.
- For the Nasal Swab Test, there is a cotton swab that we insert into your nostril and then removed and place in a tube. The tube containing the cotton swab is sent to our lab. The lab provides us with your test results in approximately 3-5 days. We then call you with the results.
- For the Blood Drawing Test, we draw a small tube of blood from your arm and send the tube of blood to our lab. The lab provides us with your test results in approximately 3-5 days. We then call you with the results.
6. What information do I need to provide?
- First and last names, date of birth, phone number and email address where we can reach you, driver’s license or state picture ID, debit/credit card or check info, and insurance card if you are also having a swab or blood drawn.
7. What do the results mean?
- If your IgG antibody and IgM antibody test are both Negative, continue to physically distance, wear a mask outside of your home, wash your hands and/or use hand sanitizer frequently.
- If either your IgG antibody test or your IgM antibody test are Positive however, isolate yourself from EVERYONE in your home in a separate room (and bathroom if possible), wear a mask in your home those few times when you have to be around others, and try very hard NOT to leave your home for 10 days OR UNTIL your Nasal swab for the COVID-19 virus comes back Negative.
- If you become short of breath, feverish and/or are otherwise sick, contact your medical provider, go to an Urgent Care, or the hospital.
